Sambaia Cachaca reflects the best in Brazilian artisan distilling expertise. It has been formulated to transmit the quintessence of sugar-cane.
As such and unlike other small producers of cachaca, we do not let it mature in casks as this tends to alter its quality and authenticity.
Its sugar cane flavour and hints of sea salt are unmistakeable, and it also has a distinctive fruity aroma (ranging from banana to cherry).
It has a lovely light clear aftertaste with undertones of aniseed.
Sambaïa “Or” cachaca is an exquisite drink, produced from choice sugar canes and matured to perfection in umburana wood barrels. This Brazilian cherry wood gives the drink its unique gold colour and powerful fruity aroma.
Thanks to the dedication and hard work of the Minas Gerais master distillers and the art of slow maturing in wooden barrels, Sambaïa Or offers a unique lingering array of flavours.
This is followed by an explosion of flavours – spices, cinnamon, vanilla, nuts, caramel or apple crumble. It rounds off with a delicate, smooth aftertaste. This is high class cachaca indeed – magnificent, unique, generous and original. Drunk neat, you will be surprised by how favourably it compares with a good cognac or whiskey.

Cachaca is Brazil’s traditional alcoholic drink… fast becoming popular worldwide.
Cachaca is obtained from fermented and distilled sugar cane juice. Its alcohol content varies from 38° to 48°.
To ensure optimum quality, sugar cane should be pressed to collect the juice within two hours of harvesting.
Sambaïa cachaca is distilled slowly in copper stills under the expert eye of the master distiller. It can be bottled immediately or left to age in special wooden barrels.
Don’t be fooled by the host of industrial cachaca which overlook the distillery process in order to mass produce! This is why one can come across poor quality cachaca.
It is easy to recognize a good quality cachaca by its smell. It should have topnotes of sugar-cane rather than alcohol. The first sip should be delicious with no burning sensation in your mouth or throat. It can be enjoyed neat or in a cocktail. Our Sambaïa cachaca is bottled at the fazenda (plantation).
The « Associação Mineira dos Produtores de Cachaça de Qualidade » was created in 1988 at the initiative of some thirty producers of quality artisanal cachaça based in Minas Gerais. It is responsible for controlling production standards and rewarding quality work.
The Minas Gerais is a Brazilian State that is as large as France. Considered to be the true heart of Brazil, its inhabitants are among the warmest people, food is delicious, nature is spectacular, and the cachaça is said to be the best in Brazil.

Most fruit can be used in a caipirinha. Passion fruit is our personal favourite!
You can also imagine how delicious a caipirinha will be with strawberries, kiwi, litchi, raspberry, mango, cherry or oranges… (the list is endless!)

It is a sort of cachaça milkshake made with coconut milk or fruit juice. It’s delicious and yet incredibly easy to prepare…
The good thing about this recipe is that you can vary it as you please – you can make batida with pineapple, strawberry, passion fruit or any other type of fruit!
